Clinical Management System

The AOHC Education and Development Team is committed to support all the CHCs in E-health strategy and moving to fully ECR adoption. This commitment is reflected in the first phase of the ECR Adoption project focussed on the development of a Roadmap, Guidelines, checklist and inventory of existing resources that could be used by all CHCs to plan their transition to full ECR. These resources were developed using the experiences, best practices and lessons learned by early adopter CHCs.

There are some significant advantages and benefits for CHCs moving to a full ECR:

1. In line with current Ontario and MOHLTC e-Health strategies.
2. The provision of better/safer client care through the use of the Clinical Management System (CMS).
   
3. Improving the inherent quality of data entered into the CMS across the sector.
   
4. Improving the CHCs reporting/researching abilities because of the better quality of data being entered across the sector.
   
5. A synergistic approach to collaborative inter-professional client care.
   
6. The impact on the environment.
   
7. Better management of client chart.
   
8. Improved legibility in client documents, charts and reports.
