Research studies
CHCs, CFHTs and AHACs are active players in research, particularly as it relates to their core mandate - social determinants of health, and innovative approaches to deal with barriers to accessing services.
To make this research accessible to a broader audience, the Wellesley Institute provided special funding to AOHC to create a searchable database of all of the research in which CHCs, CFHTs and AHACs have participated, since 2003. Research projects address a specific research question and go beyond regular program evaluations conducted by these organizations.
There are three main categories of research projects:
- External Research Projects: These are projects led by external organizations (e.g. universities), in which CHCs, CFHTs and AHACs participate.
- AOHC and CACHCA Led Projects: These are projects led by AOHC and/or the Canadian Alliance of Community Health Centre Associations (CACHCA), the national body representing CHCs.
- Research Projects Led by AOHC Member Centres: These are projects led by CHCs, CFHTs or AHACs.
In each category the database is searchable by key word for key descriptors: priority or target population, health issues addressed, community issues addressed, or organizational issued addressed. To see all of the projects in a category, click "List All" at the bottom of the search page for that category.
This database will be most useful if it is kept current. If you have a research project you would like to add, please contact Danielle at AOHC, who will provide you with a member's password and instructions for how to enter projects. You can reach her at danielle@aohc.org.
